AutoSnout is a reflection of our passion for cars and the numbers that represent their performance and aesthetics. Ever since we were young we loved to play with our Matchbox and Corgi cars. Once we could read we enjoyed looking under the models to see what year, make and model it was.
As we got older and geekier we also liked to read books with lists of the fastest, heaviest, slowest etc. AutoSnout represents this same ethos, putting the statistics that really matter to us, matching and comparing them whilst enjoying what they look and drive like too.
Once my pocket money had stretched from buying model cars to the real thing it has taken a while to save up enough to drive anything resembling my box of 1:24 scales.
My first car I drove was a Vauxhall Astra Mk 2 in a lovely shade of browny red, the next a bright red Ford Escort Estate 1.8D with no turbo fitted and a dodgy head gasket.
The cars got a little faster with a bright red M reg Ford Mondeo 1.8lx which my ex left me. The Mondeo didn't last long as my new found freedom meant I was free to choose my own car. One of my favourite hatchbacks of the time was a Citroen Saxo. So due to insurance costs I plumped for a low mileage 2001 metallic blue VTR rather than the VTS. Handled great and the 6x9 speakers I fitted were banging.
